The headline on this CNN article reads "Obama to reach out to Muslim world with Mideast trip." While this may be a good strategy only about 18% of the world's population of Muslims live in the Middle East. Perhaps he should also consider traveling to areas which have a more representative sample such as Indonesia and India.

Recently a story was posted about a child who was not allowed to to read a bible in class. People cited the separation of church and state as a reason. So here is my issue- how can we a nation so openly knock down Christians in our own country but allow our President to make trips abroad based solely on the concept of addressing religious leaders ?!?
We don't need to reach out to the Muslim world and we don't need to apologize for being a primarily Christian nation founded on Christian ideals, but one in which people are free to practice their own chosen faith (unlike in the Muslim world, where it's islam or nothing). The Muslim world's idea of a solution to the Arab/Israeli conflict is for Israel to give up it land and accept a palastinian state. I don't blame Israel at all for doing what they've done. Radical islam all over the world is the enemy of the U.S., and people need to accept that.
So many Americans are in a critical state due to our economy, that I can not understand our new President's willingness to focus on issues outside of our borders. Furthermore, our new President's desire to "make nice" with individuals who wish to do us harm infuriates em. The money spent on this trip (travel, fuel, security, souvenir snow globes etc.) could easily feed and support a small stack of needy Americans. Hell if Sally Struthers can feed kids for $0.30 a day I am sure that the monies for this trip cold be put to better use.
Our Muslim president is catering to the Muslims. No big surprise there. I guess 9-11 was our fault too. I don't care if they torture the gitmo prisoners, just don't let them out. I am glad Sadam Hussein is out of power. These racists in the white house are destroying this country from the inside and the traitors in Congress are letting it happen.
Initiating a dialogue is seldom a bad strategy. Apologizing is another story entirely.
So in this mornings address our president quotes the Holy Quran ! In this country, we can't quote the bible when on a government payroll (ie. 'on duty') so when did, following the Christian values our country was founded on turn us all into second class citizens? When does Obama make the trip to Rome to address MY religious leader?
