How do you spell English?
This head-scratcher was posed to me by my son while doing his homework last night. Instead of my stock "How do you think it's spelled?" response I was kind of mystified and said to him, "Come on, you have English every day in school, you must see the word all the time and know how to spell it. For crying out loud it's one of your core subjects."
He replied, "No daddy, it's called Language Arts."
I didn't know what to say. It's English. I've seen it and they are learning how to use the English language. There are no other languages involved, there is no art as far as I can tell, just grammar, spelling, etc. He has Art and it's entirely another subject and grade. Oh well, perhaps if they called it what it is, maybe he would know how to spell it. Just saying.

Oh boy...do I remember these meetings!
And not with fondness I might add. I am also not done with these types of encounters by any stretch of the imagination. As a consultant, these are fairly frequent. The difference is I now charge fees for this type of mind-bending experience. This is classic.

This is classic!!!
I love Frank Caliendo ever since his days on Mad TV, but he has outdone himself here. My favorites in order, Gruden, Jaws and Belichick, with honorable mention for Boomer, (aka Chris Berman) but they are all classic. Seriously, this guy can impersonate anyone on the planet. Dijon Sanders...that is just funny. Great ESPN 30 for 30 spoof on the mouth that roared.

Help him get to Japan, via Malaysia
I've written about American Ninja Warrior Drew Dreschel before on this blog. He is a buddy, fellow disc golfer and an amazing athlete. If you have seen the show in the past you may have seen him competing. Drew came back from the most devastating injury that has ever transpired on the show. Help him represent the U.S. over in Malaysia if you can. He needs three thousand dollars to make the trip. Thank you.

Dramatic footage
Watch this skier set off and survive an avalanche due to the fact that he was wearing an avalanche airbag. It's all caught on tape because they were filming a commercial for a car brand. Wow!

A funny from John Cleese
For anyone who has ever watched Monty Python, Fawlty Towers or any other of the numerous classic vignettes John Cleese has been involved with and appreciated him and his incredible comedic skills, here is a brief piece of humor he penned.
The
English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events in Syria and
have therefore raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved."
Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or
even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the
blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been
re-categorized from "Tiresome" to "A Bloody Nuisance." The last time the
British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was in 1588, when
threatened by the Spanish Armada.
The Scots have raised their threat level from "Pissed Off" to "Let's get the Bastards." They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years.
The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Collaborate" and "Surrender." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France 's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability.
Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides."
The Germans have increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbour" and "Lose."
Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels ..
The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.
Australia, meanwhile, has raised its security level from "No worries" to "She'll be right, Mate." Two more escalation levels remain: "Crikey! I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!" and "The barbie is cancelled." So far no situation has ever warranted use of the last final escalation level.
Regards,
John Cleese

WTF?
Was this man deported from Saudi Arabia for being too sexy? Wow! I've been to the kingdom and they are pretty uptight, but this takes it to a new level.
