Mr. Baseball...or is he?
There are a lot of interesting characters in the annals of baseball, and too many important figures to mention here. This guy, however, is in a class by himself as a lovable, self-deprecating, loser kind of guy. He is entering his 41st year in the booth, has a ton of baseball knowledge and statistics in his head, has been in movies, is funnier than most and is loved by all in the game. He is profiled here by the WSJ.

It's Monday
And we all know what that means. Time for another MOTW, Manager of the Week. One gets the feeling that this next manager is a frustrated CIA wannabe because of his/her form of communication.
MOTW: Acronym Manager
Working for Acronym Manager is like being initiated into a secret society which has its own lexicon. One needs to become familiar with this code in order to survive as a typical interaction with Acronym Manager may sound like this.
A.M. “W get in here. J tells me there’s a SNAFU because the PCE report didn’t make it to O&T by COB. Find out and fix it ASAP or we’ll be hosed PDQ. Also, make sure the KPI’s are included in the RA we forwarded to the BRCC. If those guys aren’t happy it’s BOHICA for sure.
W. “Sure thing boss.”
Translation:
W (William) get in here. J (Acronym Manager’s manager, no one knows the rest of the letters in his name) tells me there’s a SNAFU (Situation Normal All Fouled Up) because the PCE (Profit Center Earnings) report didn’t make it to O&T (Operations and Technology) by COB (Close Of Business). Find out and fix it ASAP (As Soon As Possible) or we’ll be hosed PDQ (Pretty Darn Quick). Also, make sure the KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) are in the RA (Risk Assessment) we forwarded to the BRCC (Business Risk Control Committee). If those guys aren’t happy it’s BOHICA (Bend Over Here It Comes Again) for sure.
