Ordering wine

Here are a few tips from the WSJ on ordering wine. The article is short and well worth reading. The little tidbit about Bern's in Tampa at the end is funny. I have dined at Bern's and can honestly say it has the longest wine list I have ever encountered. At Bern's they will take you on a tour of the wine cellar and the kitchen if you ask and I did. Both were very impressive.

I find wine is so expensive when ordering it in a restaurant. You can buy a whole bottle for what they want one glass for.

Hi Connie,

Thanks for commenting. I agree with what you say, but if you are going to drink more than a glass with dinner it pays to order a bottle for that very same reason. It is so much more expensive though.

Many restaurants let you bring your own bottle, but still charge you a corkage fee.

I guess you are paying for the atmosphere and experience.
