MOTW: Follow-Up Manager

Although related to all of them, Follow-Up Manager is much less versatile than Micro Manager, By the Book Manager or even Bureaucratic Manager. This character’s lone managerial trait consists of inspecting all of his/her staff’s work on a strict schedule whose checkpoints can be measured in nanoseconds. This approach consumes all of his/her time as well as the staff’s leaving no time for planning, design, production or innovation.

Eventually the follow up becomes an end in itself, plunging the entire unit into a downward spiral from which there is no escape. This trend continues for an unspecified period of time until one day without warning the office vaporizes, leaving only tickler files and checklists behind as trace evidence.
